Neighbourhood Plan

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
A Neighbourhood Plan is a document produced by the Town Council and the community; it has a say in the future of the places where people live, work and play. It gives communities power to set plans with a real legal weight that direct development in the local area on areas including Green and Blue Infrastructure, Movement, Landscape, Heritage, Design & Local, Character, Employment and Tourism, Housing, Local Designations, (green spaces, housing, etc.), and shaping the Town Centre.
The Plan's aim is to protect New Alresford's identity and sense of place as a vibrant, small market town. This can be achieved by setting out policies for the town to ensure the community gets the right type of development and planning decisions passed in the future, whilst protecting assets -green or built- which are important to the community and enhance the quality of life.
Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee
The Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee, a body of local volunteers and councillors, have been working on the development of the New Alresford Neighbourhood Plan.
The members of the Committee are: Councillors Byrne, Bean, Eager, Jeffs and Weston, Gareth Rees, Jan Field, Sam Dalling and Lorraine Bailey
